Blue Gum Country House lies in a picturesque and unexplored valley close to Stanford, Gansbaai, and Hermanus. Blue Gum, a 5 star guest lodge, offers an exciting alternative to guests wishing to explore the Overberg area. Guests can relax and enjoy the tranquil beauty of the 130-acre estate, explore the Private Mountain reserve or stroll through the vineyards and pastures. A game of tennis or a refreshing swim in the pool are equally attractive alternatives. Five mountain facing suites are decorated in English country style, each with a fireplace, armchairs and private patio, whereas five Manor House suites are decorated in Colonial African style, each with its own private veranda, overlooking the valley to the Klein Rivier mountains. The manor house at Blue Gum has its own lounge, library and verandah and there is great emphasis placed on serving excellent food - a passion for Nic and Nicole, your hosts. Fresh ingredients, imaginative preparation and attentive service are the hallmarks of dinner at Blue Gum, served in the dining room, the gardens or on the deck overlooking the vineyards. Traditional afternoon tea is included in the rates and light lunches are served as well.
With vineyards, pastures, river frontage and mountains, Blue Gum Country House is ideal for children and families looking for comfort and adventure. Staying at Blue Gum gives families the perfect balance of sharing experiences together, whilst having fun doing different activities. Family activities might include fishing in the river, walking on the mountain or taking a boat cruise down the Stanford River.
Blue Gum periodically runs special Family Weekends which offer families the best of both worlds: quality family time, fun for children on a farm. This is the ultimate breakaway for parents with time to recharge their batteries whilst the children are entertained. The activities are designed for children between the ages of 4 and 10 and aimed primarily at being fun and educational. The programmes will develop children’s senses in creating an awareness of the outdoors & the environment. |
