| Kenya is arguably the classic safari destination, an image evoked by unforgettable film scores, powerful novels and superb wildlife documentaries; from the adventure, scenery and romance of Out of Africa to the drama of the Big Cat Diaries. There is nowhere to compare with Kenya’s diversity of landscapes, ecosystems and wildlife and the very term ‘safari’ is the local Swahili word for ‘a journey’. Kenya is the land where many get their first taste of the bush, in the Masai Mara, before venturing further to the Serengeti in Tanzania.

| Kenya Safaris - When and How to tour Kenya |
|
If your Kenyan safari is focusing on the annual Wildebeest migration from the Serengeti into the Masai Mara, you should look at July to October for a safari in the Masai Mara. However, the best time varies from year to year, depending on the seasonal rains.
The state of the roads is poor, so flying is the best way to get around whilst on a Kenya safari. We can also plan overland safaris, bearing in mind that the cost saving will take it out on your joints! Our accommodation in Kenya is in the smaller game reserves - individual luxury lodges, off the beaten track, which work closely with local communities.
