Adventure: Tanzania Safaris and Tours Home / Tanzania / Mount Kilimanjaro and Arusha
Kilimanjaro Climb FROM: On Request
8 night/8 day (6 night climb) ex Arusha

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and, at 5895 metres, it is one of the highest walkable summits in the world. Having completed the Kilimanjaro climb, we know the sense of utter elation you feel when standing on the ?roof of Africa?. Tantalising glimpses of the magnificent snow?capped summit from the plains below belie the unique combination of eco-climatic zones which hikers will experience; rainforest, montane forest, heath and moorland, alpine desert and then, finally, snow and ice. The one-way Machame Route climbs up the southwest of the mountain. This is a more challenging, but less frequented, trail than the busier Marangu Route and offers more of a wilderness experience. Tents are used rather than overnight huts and we spend 6 nights over the trail (to aid acclimatisation) and 2 nights before and after the trail at base of the mountain. Kilimanjaro climbers should be fit and well exercised. Read more...
Greystoke Mahale Fly-In FROM: On Request
4 night/5 day fly-in safari ex Arusha

Mahale Mountains National Park is 1,613 sq km of wilderness and rainforest on the shores of Lake Tanganyika in Western Tanzania. This safari features an informally luxurious retreat in the sanctuary of the remote Mahale National Park, home to the world's largest chimpanzee population. The Mahale Mountains rise behind Greystoke Camp, which fronts the clear waters of the lake. Seventy chimps live in the mountains within hiking distance of the camp, and have become habituated to human presence over two decades. Every day you can trek in the tropical rainforest to observe our closest relatives as they groom, wrestle and forage across the leafy floor. Read more...
