Madikwe Hills Private Game Lodge, in the heart of the Madikwe Game Reserve, is one of the most luxurious and glamorous lodges in this malaria-free reserve. Perched on a rocky outcrop, amongst huge boulders and ancient Tamboti trees, Madikwe Hills overlooks the plains of the Madikwe.

The Lodge

Madikwe Hills is an exquisite safari lodge: the unusual, yet subtle décor incorporates natural materials and earthy colours to evoke a luxurious safari ambience. Giant twisted trunks of leadwood trees hold up the vaulted ceiling for example. The lodge has a sitting area, bar, dining area, library, fully equipped gym and massage sala. The cuisine  is sumptuous and served generally on the main pool deck. An impressive wine cellar to savor. Alternatively, the unique boma offers the traditional and elegant atmosphere of dining under African skies.

Accommodation

Each of the eight enormous stone and thatch rooms is slightly different. However all have huge glass walls to make the most of the bush view which lead out to an expansive deck with your own private plunge pool and fabulous outdoor shower. Inside there's a huge bathroom, bedroom and sitting room with minibar, under floor heating and open fire. The honeymoon suite is particularly special at Madikwe Hills, as it has a romantic outdoor bath on the wooden deck overlooking the bush.

Little Madikwe is a private two bedroom villa (with the option of taking an additional two suites to make a four bedroom private retreat). This flexibility means that Little Madikwe is suitable for two couples travelling together, a small family or a larger party of up to 8 or 9 people. Little Madikwe comes with its own private landrover, game ranger, butler and chef. This lets you to plan your own private safari experience to suit you, making this the ideal family safari destination. Additional facilities include a well-stocked wine cellar, satellite TV and a range of movies, children's games and books.

Children at Madikwe Hills

Children over 10 can be accommodated at Madikwe Hills and one child can share their parent's suite. Otherwise families with younger children can take Little Madikwe exclusively. There is a Junior Range programme on offer (mainly for Little Madikwe).
