Overview
Singita Serengeti House is positioned on the slopes of Sasakwa Hill in the 350,000 acre Grumeti Reserves in northern Tanzania. It is an exclusive-use retreat designed for families and groups of friends. It is close to Singita Sasakwa and all its many facilities. At this safari house Singita have created an environment of complete relaxation for a perfect stay.
Accommodation
Up to eight guests can be accommodated at Serengeti House, with two suites in the main house and two garden suites situated on either side. The house host, chef and house staff come in daily and there is a babysitting service available. The property has picturesque views of a watering hole from its perch on the south-east slopes of Sasakwa Hill. Inside, a décor blended of European country designs and African artifacts create a comfortable and unpretentious style. Serengeti House is Singita’s response to a growing demand from discerning travellers for privacy and flexibility. The pace and timing of activities here are tailor made to guests' interests and needs. Meals are also prepared to the guests' requirements. The kitchen does not have kosher or halaal facilities.
Singita Serengeti House Wildlife
During a stay at Singita Serengeti House, you are likely to spot all sorts of wildlife, including cheetah, bearded wildebeest, bat eared fox, black rhino, Maasai giraffe, lion, elephant, buffalo and leopard. It's very difficult to guess where the migrating wildebeest will be in a given month as their movements are dependent on weather patterns influencing the availability of food and water. There is no beginning or end to the Migration, it is continual.
Community Visit
Guests at Serengeti House have the opportunity to visit the Environmental Education Centre, which was developed for the young people of the local communities, to meet the students and learn about the programme. The Centre is dedicated to instilling in its students an understanding of the Serengeti Ecosystem and provides education on the rationale behind “protected areas” and on general, local and global environmental issues.
