Musango Safari Camp is a small, intimate game lodge on its own private island on Lake Kariba overlooking Matusadona National Park in Zimbabwe. The camp is owner-run by Steve Edwards, one of the finest professional guides in Zimbabwe, with his wife Wendy. Musango Bush Camp offers six spacious safari tents under thatch with en suite bathrooms built of natural stone. Two honeymoon suites have king-size beds, private verandas and private plunge pools. All the rooms are set in thick forest facing east over the lake towards the rising sun.
Musango Safari Camp offers an abundance of both wildlife and bird life with an unsurpassed range of activities: bush walks, game drives, canoeing, bird watching and tiger fishing, especially in the summer months. The focus is more on exploring under your own steam on foot or by canoe than on game drives (which are offered by request). Activities at Musango Safari Camp are fun, informal and operated by trained and experienced guides. You can fill your day with activity or simply relax and soak up the ambiance of the bush.
Walking safaris are accompanied by armed guides and take place in Matusadona National Park. Musango Safari Camp has been involved in the re-introduction of black rhino into Matusadona National Park and they often track black rhino on foot in the park.
