La Cotte Hotel
In a prime position, deceptively far from distractions, on one of the oldest Huguenot estates in Franschhoek, (granted in 1694) is La Cotte Hotel. The Manor House has been converted into a hotel with a choice of Mountain facing rooms, Pool-facing rooms or a two-bedroom Pool Suite. This house was built for ultimate privacy. Surrounded by indigenous gardens and natural beauty as far as the eye can see, you’re actually only a short walk from the town hidden away below. Each bedroom features a luxurious full en-suite bathroom and the cottage contains a lounge area, bathroom with under-floor heating and a fireplace. All designed and furnished to the highest levels of comfort, warmth and classic charm.
There's a beautiful restaurant (serving breakfast and lunch only), bar, library and breakfast conservatory. You can also enjoy breakfast on the terrace overlooking the vineyards.
La Cotte Cottages
It’s not until you’re relaxing al fresco on the terrace of your cottage, gazing out over your very own lakeside version of one of Monet’s famous ‘Water Lilies’ paintings, that you’ll fully appreciate the true magic of this unique setting.
These lavishly simple cottages offer incredible views of the forest, vineyards and valleys. The row of deceptively rustic, terraced cottages is made up of five mezzanine cottages, two more spacious two-bedroom cottages and an intimate ‘Sunset’ cottage with its own plunge pool. All cottages have sun-drenched patios, open-plan living, dining and kitchen areas, that overlook an immense swimming pool with a vine-covered, pool-side pavilion. Beautifully decorated with a collection of watercolours, oil paintings, colourful Indian textiles and antique linen cushions, each cottage has its own unique sense of life, adventure and tranquillity.

The elegantly proportioned guest bedrooms have high ceilings, French doors and private terraces,. The classic bathrooms have black and white marble floors, free-standing baths and generous walk-in showers.
Two-bedroom Pool Suite
The two-bedroom Pool House has two identical bedrooms, decorated in the same style as the standard rooms, both en suite. It also has its own living room, kitchen and private veranda. 120sqm.
Orchard Cottages
These traditional self-catering Cape cottages, with their unique position, complete privacy and well-appointed interiors, really are the perfect base for exploring the charming valley of Franschhoek. The ten various orchard cottages, one bedroom, two bedroom and three bedroom options, are perfectly situated within a 5-10 minute walk of the hotel. They lie on the outskirts of the village. Each has its own private pool and veranda looking out over glorious gardens towards the most spectacular views of the valley.
Forest Cottages
Nine traditional self-catering cottages, each beautifully converted to sleep two to four persons. Located on the forest edge of one of Franschhoek’s oldest farms, these lavishly simple cottages offer incredible views over the forest, vineyards and valleys. I loved La Cotte. It offers a great mix of traditional Cape Dutch architecture with some seriously nice hotel rooms. Or the option of stylish self-catered cottages if you prefer that.
