Treetop Canopy Walk in Lake Manyara
The treetop canopy walk is a 500 metre walkway across a series of 9 suspended bridges between trees. It’s a great way to see some of the forest birds from a unique eye-level viewpoint, as well as other forest wildlife.
The bridges are at canopy height through the indigenous forest. Along the way, your guide points out some of the birdlife and small fauna that occupy the forest.
The canopy walkways are narrow but perfectly walkable. It is perfectly safe with sturdy side panels made of thick netting. But it’s fair to say that this is not an activity for those who fear heights as the walkways range from 8 metres off the ground to 18 metres (65 feet), which is pretty high.
The whole excursion takes 50 to 60 minutes depending on what you see in the forest. The Lake Manyara Canopy walkway is an extra cost which can be pre-booked for your visit to Lake Manyara.
