Mahogany Springs, which opened in 2011, has fast staked a claim to being one of Uganda’s finest lodges and one of the most popular in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Spacious rooms and attentive service designed to match the sublime experience of meeting mountain gorillas in the wild. Mahogany Springs is close to the Park Headquarters where trekkers gather each morning in high anticipation for their pre-trek briefing.

Accommodation at Mahogany Springs

There are just eight large guest cottages at Mahogany Springs.  These are set in the lush gardens which lead down to the Munyanga River. They can be made up as twin, double or triple and have walk-in mosquito nets. Each room, with bathroom en suite, has a private balcony overlooking the valley in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Like the main building they are brick built with thatched roofs and hardwood floors, all very elegant but simple.

Activities

As well as gorilla treks, guests can participate in forest and waterfall walks, birding and tree planting as part of a reforestation programme. Mahogany Springs staff can also arrange a tour for you to meet the Batwa tribe. Activities must be pre-booked and are at an extra cost.

Rooms

Superior Banda

There are 8 Superior Suites/Bandas. These can be single, twin, triple or quad. All have private bathrooms, private terrace, hot water, power points, mosquito nets, luxury linen and are finished to a high standard. 24/7 power.

Presidential/Family Suite

This Suite is ideal for groups or families. It is 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, private lounge area, large raised private terrace. The Suite has various power points, hot water, mosquito nets, luxury linen and is finished to a high standard.

Honeymoon Suite

There are two 2 Honeymoon Suites. They are similar to the Superior Suites but have a few little added touches including the Jacuzzi Bathtub in addition to the shower.
