Sand Rivers Selous camp is located in one of the prettiest and most scenically varied parts of the 50,000 square km Selous Game Reserve overlooking the curve of the Rufiji River. An impressive baobab tree shades the swimming pool and the open sided lounge and dining area both have stunning 180 degree river views, so that you can enjoy the river and bush views throughout the day. The camp has a feeling of luxury mixed with a comfortable African ambience: hand carved furniture, stone walls, large comfy sofas and chairs.
Sand Rivers Selous has spacious, open fronted cottages raised on the river banks. There are five Riverside standard rooms and three Hillside suites; all have en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and powerful showers. The suites also have their own private plunge pool and lounge area.
Sand Rivers Selous offers a multitude of game viewing possibilities and other activities in the Selous. Enjoy game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, bush walks, fly-camping at a supplement and fishing. Other options at Sand Rivers Selous include a relaxing soak in the Tagalala hot springs or spending some time in their hide overlooking the marshy area – great for birders. River trips are usually especially memorable at Sand River Selous heading both upstream to the gorge and downstream to the pods of hippos and crocodiles.
