Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve is one of our favourite places in the Cederberg Mountains near Clanwilliam. The canyons, rivers and waterfalls of the Cedarberg can be savoured from the warm and stylish ambience of Bushmans Kloof Koro Lodge, an exclusive use villa which comes with its own personal chef and ranger. Welcoming children of all ages, Koro Lodge is ideal for family parties or groups of friends sleeping up to 4 adults and 4-6 children or teenagers.
Bushmans Kloof Koro Lodge is located in a secluded corner of the reserve (4 km away from the Main Lodge) and within easy walking distance of the dam. Koro Lodge is completely private, comfortably and luxuriously styled in natural vibrant earth colours, with beautiful, handcrafted South African objects and furnishings. The rich colours of Africa create a mood of harmony and well-being.
The two sun-filled master bedrooms have private terraces and uninterrupted views of the reserve. One bedroom also has a private, outdoor shower. The living room offers the ideal space to relax and enjoy cosy dinners by the warmth of the open fireplace on those cold winter nights. A large terrace surrounds the house, inspiring the name 'Koro', which means 'open vistas' in the San language. This is the venue for alfresco eating in spring, summer and autumn. There’s also a swimming pool and outdoor braai area.
A cleverly designed loft area, upstairs from the main living area, comfortably accommodates four children of all ages, allowing them to sleep, rest and play in private, yet within close proximity to their parents. Independent but close to the main villa, is a fun, and practically furnished family living space that can also sleep 2 teenagers or adults, complete with en-suite bathroom. It is fully equipped to entertain with a flat screen TV, games, DVDs, under floor heating and air conditioning.
A South African natural heritage site, Bushmans Kloof Reserve offers the world's largest open air art gallery with more than 130 pristine rock art sites. Guided rock art walks and sunset nature drives bring you close to the indigenous game, including eland, red hartebeest, gemsbok, klipspringer, Cape mountain zebra & the elusive Cape mountain leopard. Many exciting outdoor family activities such as mountain biking, canoeing, hiking, archery, star gazing and swimming in the rock pools and waterfalls are also on offer. Great to combine the Cederberg with the West Coast.
Spa treatments are available at the main lodge or selected treatments are possible in the privacy of your own room. Yoga mats and DVDs are also available.
