I like this camp a lot! Absolutely stunning. It is a larger camp than Little Sable (its smaller and slightly more modest sister lodge), so it has a bit of a buzz. The Décor is beautiful. The food was outstanding. Game-viewing was outstanding. Guiding was great. Beautiful rooms. I can’t fault it!
Saw Sable (apt!), zebra, 9 wild dogs with 2 pups plus a leopard with her cubs. We actually saw Wild dog in the evening and again next morning
One (small) thing I didn’t like, is the wifi in the main area as well as rooms. My vote goes for wifi in rooms only or the whole atmosphere gets spoiled.
Note: We didnt have time to do it, but we stronly recommend adding on Hyena Pans and/or doing the Skybed experience (by itself). You take a 7 min heli ride up to Hyena Pans and then transfer to the underground hide for afternoon tea. Later you transfer to the Sky Beds, which is a sleep-out experience. (Note you have to book a minimum 3 nights at Sable Alley, but you can pay a surcharge for Skybeds if its a shorter stay.)
- Waterhole outside Camp (it’s pumped if no there’s no water/rain) with lots of hippo activity and other wildlife
- Massages on the menu for in room treatments
- Beautiful lodge and rooms
- In and outdoor shower
- Khwai private concession with no other vehicles
- In room charging points & Ceiling fan
- WiFi main area and rooms
- Can do mokoro trips from Little Sable
