Masoala Forest Lodge

Nestled in a sheltered cove, surrounded by the Masoala National Park, Masoala Forest Lodge opens onto the warm, coral-rich waters of the Tampolo Marine Reserve. Here beaches stretch for miles and the sounds of a forest teeming with life will send you into a blissful reverie each night. The lodge is designed as an eco-haven, touching lightly on the earth and allowing an intimate experience of this unique environment and all the diverse species that call it home. Accessible only by foot or boat, the lodge is a haven of tranquillity. Seven tented rooms are raised into the tree canopy on timber decks and peep through the lush greenery directly onto the golden beach.

The two communal areas known as 'The Beach House' and 'The Sea Deck' are also stilted, thatched and open-plan, providing natural lighting and ventilation in a minimalist and energy-efficient style. The sea deck is spectacularly sited on the rocks overhanging the sea, with wrap-around views of the ocean, the forested coastline and the fish below.

From the comfort of the lodge, explore the wildlife and beauty of this natural paradise with activities including forest walks, snorkelling, kayaking, traditional pirogues, swimming in the sea and the crystal clear streams, whale watching, fishing and experiencing sustainable life in the rainforest with the local Malagasy community. The sea kayaks are ideal for exploring the islands, reefs, rivers and deserted beaches of the sheltered coastline or just to watch the magic of the sunset on the forested mountains.
