Accommodation

It has just 10 secluded palm-fringed bandas, all ensuite with a large stone shower. Simply furnished yet still luxurious with soft, natural furnishings, a private veranda leads directly onto the soft white sand. Midway between the bandas and the Indian Ocean are shaded traditional Zanzibari ‘beach’ beds, perfect for reading, sleeping, gazing at dhows or doing nothing at all.

The public areas are all open sided, cooled by sea breezes, informal and relaxed. Sit back with a refreshing drink, taking in the gorgeous views of the white beach and watch the sun set. Beach chairs and beds can be placed on the beach for guests to sunbathe and relax in comfort. This romantic theme continues through the evening as dinner is served on the beach, under the stars of the African sky. Listen to the gentle waves lapping on the beach as you enjoy your candlelit dinner.

Activities

A protection zone surrounds the island, conserving magnificent coral reefs where giant turtles, ghost crabs and spectacular tropical fish drift through the lagoons. You can enjoy world-class scuba diving or snorkelling, as well as boating, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding, sea kayaking or fly-fishing. The lodge has a fully equipped diving centre, which is located on the other side of the island, or you can take a trip on a traditional dhow, complete with picnic, to a remote beach and luxuriate in the superb unspoilt scenery away from the crowds.
