Nestled between the natural riches of the Crater and the amazing architecture, andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is literally a game lodge on the top of the world.
Once a gigantic volcano, the Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania is now the largest intact caldera in the world. Today, long since having collapsed and eroded, it is an extensive highland area with the famous 600m (2,000ft) deep crater as its focal point. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth. There is an estimated 25,000 large mammals resident in this bowl of plenty.
Ngorongoro Crater Lodge has 30 luxurious stilted suites which are divided into three camps. With their banana leaf ceilings and grass roofs, the suites provide an intimate and exclusive Crater experience. Each camp has its own sitting and dining areas, with private butlers to provide warm, personal service to each guest. An array of whimsical African touches creates a sumptuous atmosphere that is as elegant and unique as the Crater itself.
Each suite at is decorated with graceful antiques, grand chandeliers and elegant African treasures. The bedroom, sitting room and en suite bathroom have floor-to-ceiling glass windows to make the most of the amazing views of the Crater below. Beaded chandeliers hang above large gilt mirrors, while antiques, raw silk curtains and leather-backed chairs blend harmoniously with African art elements. En suite bathrooms with a dramatic centrepiece of red roses feature spacious showers and chandelier-lit bathtubs. To top off this luxury experience, you have your own personal butler attending to your every need, whether it’s bringing tea in bed, stoking fireplaces or drawing luxurious bubble baths.
