Overview

Nestled between the natural riches of the Crater and the amazing architecture, andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is literally a game lodge on the top of the world.

Once a gigantic volcano, the Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania is now the largest intact caldera in the world. Today, long since having collapsed and eroded, it is an extensive highland area with the famous 600m (2,000ft) deep crater as its focal point. Nearly three million years old, the ancient caldera shelters one of the most beautiful wildlife havens on earth. There is an estimated 25,000 large mammals resident in this bowl of plenty.

Accommodation Suites

Ngorongoro Crater Lodge has 30 luxurious stilted suites which are divided into three camps. With their banana leaf ceilings and grass roofs, the suites provide an intimate and exclusive Crater experience. Each camp has its own sitting and dining areas, with private butlers to provide warm, personal service to each guest. An array of whimsical African touches creates a sumptuous atmosphere that is as elegant and unique as the Crater itself.

Each suite at is decorated with graceful antiques, grand chandeliers and elegant African treasures. The bedroom, sitting room and en suite bathroom have floor-to-ceiling glass windows to make the most of the amazing views of the Crater below. Beaded chandeliers hang above large gilt mirrors, while antiques, raw silk curtains and leather-backed chairs blend harmoniously with African art elements. En suite bathrooms with a dramatic centrepiece of red roses feature spacious showers and chandelier-lit bathtubs. To top off this luxury experience, you have your own personal butler attending to your every need, whether it’s bringing tea in bed, stoking fireplaces or drawing luxurious bubble baths.

Three separate and intimate camps totalling just 30 suites are reminiscent of a bygone era. Steeped in romance, each stilted, handcrafted mud and thatch suite is adorned with graceful antiques, grand chandeliers and elegant African treasures. The bedroom, sitting room and ensuite bathroom boast floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the magnificent Crater below. Beaded chandeliers hang above large gilt mirrors, while antiques, billowing raw silk curtains and leather-backed chairs blend harmoniously with African art elements. Ensuite bathrooms with a dramatic centrepiece of red roses feature spacious showers and chandelier-lit bathtubs. Personal butler discretely cater for each guest’s every need, bringing tea in bed, stoking fireplaces and drawing luxurious bubble baths.

Family Suite

Families, or groups, will love the family suite at andBeyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. Two suites are conveniently interlinked via a closed walkway, which allows access between the suites, while maintaining complete privacy. The bedrooms, sitting rooms and ensuite bathrooms of the suites boast floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the magnificent Crater below. The family suite can accommodate two adults and two children.
