Elephant Plains Game Lodge lies in the northern part of the Sabi Sands Game Reserve bordering the Kruger National Park. It offers comfortable style and affordable luxury for a maximum of only 24 guests ensuring personal service and a warm, friendly atmosphere.
This owner-run lodge comprises six luxury glass-fronted suites, each with lounge area and private sundeck with beautiful views of the waterhole. One has been specially prepared for disabled guests. The Honeymoon suite overlooking the dry riverbed also has an outdoor sala and private plunge pool. A further five thatched rondavels are set in a beautifully landscaped garden and offer excellent value for money. All rooms and suites have en suite bathrooms with shower and bath, air-conditioning, ceiling fans, tea/coffee facilities, minibar and mosquito nets. There's a family chalet with two interleading bedrooms which is suitable for families of 4 (or 5 at a squeeze).
Meals at Elephant Plains Game Lodge are served around a fire in the open-air boma under a starlit sky. Adjacent to the swimming pool, the expansive wooden sundeck offers spectacular views overlooking the waterhole and plains below.
Discover the thrill of a safari from the safety of open 4x4 game vehicles. Your experienced game ranger and local Shangaan tracker are keen to share with you their extensive knowledge and love of the African bush. At Elephant Plains Game Lodge the day starts with an early morning game drive, then after breakfast a bush walk gives you the opportunity to learn about the smaller wonders of the veld. During the afternoon game drive you will stop for sun-downers whilst watching the sun set over this awe-inspiring wilderness. Other activities include the African Health Spa and star-gazing. Facilities include two swimming pools, the spa, gym, small library and games room.
The northern part of the Sabi Sand Game Reserve is accessed by Gowie Gate. Guests staying here fly into Hoedspruit airport and take a one hour road transfer.
Elephant Plains is unusual in that it allows kids of three years and upwards to join a game drive, at the rangers discretion. However there is no special kids programme of events so its best for families who like to be together as a family unit.
