The venerable Fairmont Norfolk Hotel was opened in 1904 and has played a pivotal role in Kenya’s historical legacy, notably as the modern city of Nairobi grew around the property. It continues to be one of the capital’s finest hotels, a calm oasis in the city combining history and character with contemporary glamour and modern amenities.
Fairmont Norfolk Hotel is still the traditional starting point for many an African safari and the Lord Delamere Terrace is Nairobi's popular meeting place, where drinks and light meals are served throughout the day. It’s joined by the elegant Cin Cin Wine Bar and the ultra modern Tatu restaurant. The Hotel has recently added a Kid's Only menu to its Tatu restaurant and Lord Delamere Terrace.
The hotel boasts 125 luxurious rooms and suites, a heated outdoor swimming pool, and a health club with a fitness centre and a spa.
Its public areas and restaurants have been brought up to date and the 44 deluxe rooms in the new Acacia wing were added. Fairmont Norfolk Hotel now offers 170 charming and well-appointed rooms and suites, all equipped with satellite television, phone, internet, safe, minibar, air-conditioning and en suite marble bathrooms with bath and shower.
