Fumba Beach Lodge is located on a beautiful and secluded beach on the Fumba peninsula in south-west Zanzibar, within the Menai Bay Conservation Area. Fumba Beach Lodge combines a sense of space & style with friendly service.
There are just 26 rooms at Fumba Beach Lodge, peppered throughout the 40 acre grounds so there's a pervading sense of space; many of the rooms are shaded by well-established baobab trees and palms. The twenty deluxe rooms at Fumba Beach Lodge are simply furnished but spacious with en-suite bathroom, private terrace and ocean views. (These can accommodate families). The four luxury suites have a private roof terrace, open air shower and sumptuous bath overlooking the Indian Ocean. Top of the food chain at Fumba Beach Lodge are the two romantic Baobab Suites which are ingeniously constructed in and around a baobab tree and feature a large outdoor bath.
Fumba Beach Lodge boasts two kilometres of coastline and three secluded, exclusive beaches for their guests. There's a cliff top swimming pool with stunning views of the Indian Ocean and an open-air restaurant where fresh seafood, local specialties and international dishes are served. The unusual beach bar, fashioned from a Zanzibari dhow, is always popular. Here you can watch the sun setting under the shade of an ancient baobab tree.
Baobabs feature in more of Fumba Beach Lodge - there's a massage centre built around an old baobab tree; there's even a jacuzzi in the tree overlooking the gardens and the Indian Ocean.
If you’re into diving Fumba Beach Lodge has a fully equipped, PADI accredited dive centre, allowing you to make the most of the beautiful coral reefs of the Menai Bay Conservation Area. As well as offering the experienced diver some great dive opportunities, the centre runs courses from introductory level to advanced. Alternatively from Fumba Beach Lodge you can explore the Menai Bay Conservation Area on a boat & snorkel excursion - home to two different species of dolphins: the Indo-Pacific humpback and the bottlenose. There are opportunities to swim or snorkel, with snorkelling instruction available for beginners.
