Overview

Hyena Pan Tented Camp is a tranquil tented camp situated in a private concession area NG18, adjacent to the Khwai area. This 350,000 hectare private concession falls within the Okavango Delta World Heritage Site.

This new tented camp borders the Moremi National Park and the Khwai River. And is positioned 12 km north of the Khwai River. It lies within Cathedral Mopane forest overlooking a natural Mopane Pan. The pan is a constant water supply to many species of birds and animals year round. The rains in December to March flood the area creating an enormous water feature. This entices Hippo, Elephant and Buffalo, not to mention the exceptional array of water birds. As the pan shrinks from March through to late November they pump water to the pan from one of their solar-powered boreholes. Game activities include game drives and bush walks.

The eight en-suite tents are raised on stilts. And offer simple comfort, furnished with twin beds, solar generated power and private facilities including gas generated showers.

Also an option is to stay one night at Hyena Pan's sky beds, an overnight fly camp which allows you to experience the wilds of Africa in safety and comfort. The skybed comes complete with proper flush toilets for example.

You may like to enjoy the Elephant Song Trail which is offered as either a 3 or 4 night walking trail with the first and last nights based at Hyena Pan and the middle night or two at Hyena Skybeds.
