Overview

Kanga Camp is set within a private concession in the most remote part Mana Pools National Park, a World Heritage Site, around the Kanga Pan. It lies close to Chitake Springs.

The Kanga Pan is the only permanent water source in the area available throughout the year, making it a hub for wildlife and to explore on foot. The diverse area has a multiple of open vleis, river tributuaries of the Ruckomechi River, mixed woodland types from Mopane woodland to Jesse bush and riverine forests.

Accommodation

This luxury tented camp comprises of 6 luxury meru-style tents all furnished simply, with en-suite bathroom facilities with flush toilets and running hot and cold water. One of the tents is a honeymoon suite with a private deck for dining and relaxing in the afternoons. The honeymoon suite can also be converted into a Family suite on special request.

(Kanga Camp accepts children of all ages during their Family Months of January to June and November to December. During the peak, non-family months, they take children younger than 12 years but they pay full adult rates. )

The main area has a comfortable lounge and dining area offering you uninterrupted views of a very active water hole. Relax in the upper deck lounge under the shade of a mahogany tree or sit on the deck with its splash pool, and enjoy the old Africa in this new era.

Activities

Activities will include game drives in open four-wheel drive vehicles and night drives. But the most unique and exciting activity is walking and tracking wild life with a professional guide. The possibility to leave your vehicle, or even walk out of the camp and track game on foot with an experienced professional guide is a rare experience in National Parks. The fact that this is one of the best walking territories in Africa makes bush walks at Kanga Camp even more of a highlight.

Besides game drives and walking safaris at this inland gem, an hour's drive brings you to the glorious Zambezi River where you are able to enjoy water-based activities such as canoeing and fishing excursions on special request.

A major attraction during your stay at Kanga, is ‘Kanga under the Stars’ - an opportunity to sleep on an open platform and experience the magnificence of an African night lit up solely by a sky studded with stars.
