Covering 10,000ha of beautiful and diverse bushveld, Kariega Game Reserve offers abundant game including lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, hippo, hyena, giraffe, zebra and numerous antelope species. The birdlife along the river banks is excellent with martial and crowned eagles often soaring above you and the plantiff cry of the fish eagle often heard.

Activities at Kariega

Kariega River Lodge offers a particularly good range of activities. As well as morning and afternoon open vehicle game drives, they offer river cruises on their African Queen boat. Or you can enjoy a beach visits by boat to Kenton on sea. Plus great fly-fishing from the deck, canoeing from the lodge jetty, bush walks, and a range of combinations such as a river cruise followed by a game drive. Or you can simply relax by the pool and do absolutely nothing…
