Accommodation

All twelve en-suite rooms at La Plume are well-appointed with air-conditioning, ceiling fan, complimentary port, television & bar fridge, and all are furnished with Cape antiques. The two honeymoon suites are particularly spacious and feature South African antique furniture. The two-bedroom Plumes Cottage with two bathrooms is ideal for families up to five. This can also be taken as a two bedroom cottage for smaller families. The individual bedrooms can also accommodate one child on an extra bed.

The two bedroom Private Farm Villa has two en-suite bathrooms with spacious open plan lounge/dining room area and fully equipped kitchen. Located opposite La Plume only 1 minute walk to main building, it offers independence and privacy, overlooking the spectacular mountain from your rear private verandas, with baby ostriches just metres away (during breeding season).

Karin's husband Bartel offers an insider's tour of the ostrich farm on request which is a far cry from the more formal tours at the ostrich show farms. Hearty breakfasts are served in the dining room, and Karoo farm-style dinners are available on request, if you don't feel like stirring from this tranquil oasis. There's also a swimming pool in the pleasant garden, and there are some great hiking and mountain biking opportunities (bikes available for hire).  The new Spa also offers a range of massages, facials and various touch therapies with three treatment rooms, a scrub chamber with shower and Rasul chamber with separate shower.

The Little Karoo is perfect for children with the Cango caves, the ostrich farms and the Cango wildlife ranch amongst other options. Nearby is the Meerkat Magic Conservation Project, a highlight for guests keen to see these intriguing little animals.
