Overview

Lemala Mpingo Ridge sits on top of an escarpment within the Tarangire National Park. It offers sweeping views over the valley below with the perennial Tarangire River attracting wildlife for much-needed water in the dry season.

Tarangire remains slightly off the main safari circuit but it is very rewarding in terms of wildlife. It is also very scenic featuring classic African savannah, green hills, woodlands and rivers. But of course it is especially famous for its large herds of elephants, superb birdlife and giant baobab trees. Here, at Lemala Mpingo, you enjoy a real sense of wilderness and excellent game viewing.

This ridge-top lodge has a large open plan lounge and bar, indoor and outdoor dining areas, a charming semi-alfresco spa and a large swimming pool.

Sundowners, early morning walks and game drives (and night time game drives)  in custom-designed closed vehicles accompanied by their highly knowledgeable and experienced guides are some of the activities that you can look forward to during your stay.

Suite

Each of the 15 spacious tented suites have been carefully positioned to maximize not only the sensational views over the Tarangire valley but also to take advantage of cooling breezes during warm weather. Each spacious suite has bathroom with bath, indoor and outdoor shower with a view. The private deck has a sunken outside lounges that converts easily into an afternoon siesta bed. A special feature is the private outside bathtub—perfect for soothing the soul and washing away the African dust after a day on safari.

Family Suite

Three of the suites are exactly the same as the standard suites. But with an additional sofa bed to accommodate triples, and a safari-style kids bed for kids under 12. (So a maximum occupancy of 4).

Two-bedroom suite

There’s a family two bedroom suite, especially designed for friends or family traveling together. These are exactly like the standard suites with both rooms en suite but with an added lounge in between.
