Little Ongava lies within Ongava Game Reserve, a private 30,000ha game reserve on the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. Inspired by the spectacular panoramas and cool breezes that the Ongava hills provide, Little Ongava offers some of the most luxurious accommodation available in Namibia. It has a spectacular setting perched on a koppie, overlooking Ongava's floodlit waterhole with wide-angle views of the plains below. Yet the design is so integrated with the bush, that you can hardly see Ongava Lodge lying further down the koppie.
This intimate camp has only three spacious and opulent suites each with its own plunge pool, en-suite bathroom and one of the most spectacular outdoor shower settings I’ve seen. Each has its own private view of the waterhole and plains below. Chill out in your private rim flow pool, relax in the indoor/outdoor bathroom, or enjoy a daytime siesta in your private 'sala' tucked away in the rocks. The main lounge area lends itself to relaxed stylish dining under an African sky, however meals can be served in your suite if you prefer.
Activities at Little Ongava include game drives in open 4x4 vehicles into Etosha, as well as night drives and nature walks in the private Ongava game reserve. With its resident white and black rhino, rhino tracking on foot is a popular activity at Ongava. Game drives and day trips into nearby Etosha National Park are also offered. You have the chance to see lion, leopard, cheetah and the plains species including the endemic black-faced impala. Keen birders may see various species from a pygmy falcon to some of Namibia's endemic species such as Hartlaub's francolin, the bare-cheeked babbler or Ruppel's parrot.
Little Ongava is perfect for honeymooners, those seeking utter seclusion on their holiday. With only three suites, it can also be taken by a small group of six on an exclusive use basis.
The suites are large enough to take an additional child age from 6 to 16, however families with children under the age of 13 must take a private vehicle for game activities and 13 is also the minimum age for walking activities.
