Motswari Private Game Reserve is open to the Kruger National Park and nestles within the Timbavati Nature Reserve. This family-owned and operated four-star lodge prides itself on its warm atmosphere. The name Motswari means "to conserve and protect" in Tswana.
The understated luxury of this traditional, vintage lodge promises an authentic safari experience to all of its visitors. It offers 15 luxuriously appointed en-suite chalets, each with air-conditioning, and unrivalled bush views. The naturally-furnished interiors of each bungalow reflect the wonders of nature outside.
There are no spas or gyms here at Motswari. Instead they provide the serenity and relaxation that comes from exploring the intricacies of the living ecosystem that will surround you and the exercise that comes from walking the untamed trails that abound in the pristine environment you will find yourself in.
Facilities include a bar, a rock swimming pool overlooking the riverbed, library, art gallery and small curio shop In addition Meals are taken either in a scenic location out on the trail with one of the highly-trained guides or, depending on the season, dining in the bush or the alfresco Boma.
Activities include game drives, bush walks, wildlife interest talks and in-room spa treatments.
Families at Motswari - Children are welcome and one child under the age of twelve years may share with their parents. Children from six upwards can join the game drives.
Geigers is a separate camp comprises only 4 suites. This camp is ideally suited to families or small groups of up to eight people, but rooms are offered individually as well.Privacy, elegance with a hint of rustic charm, and a great sense of tranquillity – that's Geiger’s Camp. Perched on a ridge, this hideaway boasts panoramic views of the Nhlaralumi River.
Geiger’s Camp was originally a traditional family house and thus maintains a homely atmosphere. The camp’s main deck has an infinity pool with uninterrupted views of the bush. Walls are built fromr rock and stone, decorated with stunning artworks. Each of the rooms has its own private deck overlooking the bush. Each room has been uniquely and tastefully styled with an eclectic mix of furniture and décor.
Guests staying at Main Camp or Geiger’s Camp have the opportunity to be treated to a luxury tree-house sleep out, (t an additional cost). Open-air viewing is possible, yet the room is completely secure and extremely private. Plus it can be covered with a retractable canvas roof. You are escorted to the dam by a guide, shortly before sunset, and then left to enjoy the tranquillity and privacy
until the following morning. Drinks and a delicious simple dinner will be provided. An eco-bathroom is provided for your comfort.
