Mountain Gorilla View Lodge is a simple lodge only 15 mins drive from the Volcanoes National Park headquarters in the foothills of the Virunga mountains.  The headquarters is the starting point for your gorilla tracking activities so the lodge is the pefect base for your gorilla trekking.

Accommodation

The lodge has 30 spacious but relatively Spartan  cottages which have lovely views of the Virunga volcanic massif as well as the hills of Ruhengeri. There’s a sitting area in each cottage with a wood fire for the chilly evenings (the altitude is 2,200metres) but the rather basic bathrooms could do with some attention. Hair-dryers, umbrellas, hot water bottles at night, coffee-making facilities and minibar are provided in each room.

There’s a central restaurant, bar and dining area at Mountain Gorilla View Lodge and the food is generally of a good standard and the portions are generous enough to power you up the hills in search of the mountain gorillas.
