Oliver’s Hotel & Restaurant is a very pleasant four star hotel between White River and Hazyview in the Drakensberg Escarpment area close to Blyde River Canyon. The lodge is situated on the White River Country Estate and overlooks the first green of the 18-hole championship golf course. The Blyde River Canyon area is well-known for its temperate sub-tropical climate as well as its many scenic and adventurous activities.
Oliver's is especially well-known for its superb restaurant with fine wines from its well-stocked wine cellar.
Accommodation
The hotel has a total of 9 rooms as well as an extra 4-bedroom family house and a Family Cottage which are both separate to the main building. There's a choice of three room types: spacious exclusive rooms, luxury rooms with verandas, and executive suites which have a separate sitting room and decadent bathrooms with a private outdoor shower. All rooms are well-equipped with twin or king-sized beds, full en suite bathrooms, DSTV, telephone, minibar, air-conditioning, heating, tea/coffee facilities and bathrobes. The luxury rooms and executive suites also have a mini-hifi with DVD and an open fireplace.
Outside, there is a pretty garden overlooking the golf course with a swimming pool and tea pavillion. Another welcome addition is the spa with professional therapists offering a range of treatments. All the facilities of the White River Country Club may also be enjoyed at extra cost and include golf, tennis and squash. Golf lessons may be arranged with the club pro.
Families at Oliver's Hotel
The hotel also welcomes families. Extra beds can be placed in many of the rooms. In addition, there is a well-priced comfortable family cottage which has two bedrooms, both en suite with a sitting room and fully equipped kitchen. As with the other rooms, the cottage has DSTV, telephone, minibar, air-conditioning, heating, coffee/tea facilities and bathrobes. There is a small play area in the hotel's gardens ideal for younger children.

Rooms
Exclusive Standard Room
Each of our Exclusive Standard rooms are individually furnished and have King-sized beds: these can be converted to twin beds on request (+/- 45m2). They are equipped with DSTV, telephone, minibar with snacks, air-conditioning, heater, coffee & tea facilities, a safe, hairdryer and bathrobes. The bathrooms are all en-suite with separate showers and baths, heated towel-rails and luxury bathroom amenities. We offer an inter-leading family unit in this category as well.
Luxury Room
Our five Luxury Rooms, each approximately 75 m2 in size, are all situated adjacent to our main hotel building, overlooking either the pool or the golf course. Each of the rooms are individually furnished, have a cosy sitting area in front of a fireplace with spacious and private patios, which offer stunning views over the gardens and golf course. The expansive en-suite bathrooms include a double vanity, separate shower, corner bath and private toilet. They are all equipped with satellite TV, Wi-Fi, minibar with snacks, air-conditioning, heater, coffee & tea facilities, safes, hairdryer and bathrobes. An extra adult or child can be accommodated in this room type.
Executive Suite
Our two Executive Suites, are located on the 1st floor in the building adjacent to the main hotel. These luxuriously furnished rooms (each 100m2) have spacious and private balconies with stunning views over the gardens, pool, golf course and surrounds. The suites have an entrance hall with a guest toilet, a separate lounge and bedroom area each with a fireplace. The en-suite bathrooms have a double vanity, indoor and outdoor shower, corner bath and separate toilet. They are all equipped with DSTV, telephone, minibar with snacks, air-conditioning, heater, coffee & tea facilities, safes, hairdryer and bathrobes. An extra adult or two children under 12 can be accommodated in this room type.
Family House
This private family house is adjacent to the hotel, alongside the pool area. It sleeps eight people in four bedrooms, two with King-sized and two with Queen-sized beds. Two of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms, while the other two rooms share a bathroom. The house has a spacious open-plan lounge, dining room and kitchenette, as well as a large private veranda area – a great place to relax after a day exploring or on the golf course.
Family Unit
Situated in our main building this unit consists of two inter-leading bedrooms, with access to the 2nd bedroom being via the 1st bedroom. Each bedroom has its own bathroom, one a full bathroom with a separate shower and bath and the other with a shower only. The Exclusive Family Unit has a spacious veranda with views over the gardens and golf course. The unit is equipped with satellite TV, WiFi, telephone, minibar with snacks, air-conditioning, heater, coffee & tea facilities, safes, hairdryer and bathrobes.
Family Cottage
The Family Cottage is a separate house that has two bedrooms, each with a Queen-size bed and en-suite bathroom (showers only). The comfortable lounge has a fireplace with a cosy seating area and kitchen as well as a private veranda.
