Paradise Sun Hotel is discretely tucked away on the north-eastern side of Praslin Island, the second largest island in the Seychelles archipelago. The hotel nestles in the far corner of 3km of vast white sandy beach of Cote d’Or, one of the best beaches in the Seychelles. It lies under an outcrop of enormous granite boulders – making it private and secluded.
Here, on Praslin Island, where temperatures average around 28°C, you will find some of the finest beaches not only in the Seychelles, but in the world – and you will also discover the Vallée de Mai which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and according to legend, the original Garden of Eden.
There are 80 rooms in total, 70 of which are Superior Rooms and 10 are Deluxe family Rooms. They are grouped in multiple buildings so that all rooms have verandas overlooking the beach and sea. The lush tropical garden blends into the hillside behind.
Superior rooms (32m²) all have a private furnished balcony or terrace, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, safe, fridge stocked on request, tea/coffee making facilities, flat screen satellite TV. Some have interleading balcony doors making them ideal for families. The Family deluxe rooms (42m²) have an additional lounge area with a sleeper couch for a teenager or two smaller children.
Breakfast is served in the restaurant overlooking the gardens and landscaped swimming pool. Lunch and dinner is at Le Beach restaurant. Themed evening entertainment and a comprehensive programme of daily events will keep the entire family busy.
The Paradise Sun seems larger than it actually is, mainly because of all the activities available. There’s excellent snorkeling in the gentle shelving bay. Complimentary windsurfing, canoeing and volleyball and walking trails are on offer. Extra activities include boat excursions to surrounding islands deep-sea fishing and an in-house PADI dive center with daily diving excursions to the islands.
