Overview
Nestled at the heart of the world-famous Garden Route, Plettenberg Bay is world-renowned for the splendour of its sky and seascapes and the unspoilt beauty of its lagoons and beaches. Just five minutes by car from the restaurants, galleries, coffee shops and bars, The Robberg Beach Lodge collection is a tranquil beachside haven on the beautiful Blue Flag Robberg Beach. It comprises four separate buildings which each have a selection of garden-facing rooms, sea-facing rooms and suites.
The Robberg Beach Lodge comprises Robberg House, Beachy Head Villa, Cottage Pie and Cordovan Villa. Together, these four houses offer a boutique hotel experience right on the beach. Beachy Head Villa acts as the central meeting place with a full breakfast served in the dining room and on the veranda next to the pool. All rooms at Robberg Beach Lodge have mini-bar, tea/coffee facilities, air-conditioning, satellite TV and safe. They differ in their size and their views.
Accommodation
Robberg House offers you all the luxuries of penthouse living, just stone's throw from the beach. Enjoy sundowners on the rooftop deck of Robberg House, with panoramic views of the ocean and Robberg Nature Reserve. There are five luxury Rooms, four suites and one sea view suite. Each suite has a sleeper couch that can sleep two small children and the View Suite can have 2 single beds added for two children under 12 years.
The Beachy Head Villa offers 6 rooms consisting of one Luxury Room, three Luxury View Rooms and two Luxury View Suites.
Set back from Beachy Head Villa lies the peaceful and private Cordovan Villa, a beachside sanctuary offering shady garden courtyards. Here there are five rooms - three Luxury Rooms and two Luxury Suites. This Villa is ideal for families as it offers inter-leading rooms and a spacious family suite.
Important Note: Not all rooms at the Robberg are sea facing and this can cause some upset if people do not realise that they have booked a non-sea facing room.
Cottage Pie by the Robberg is now sold as a separate entity. As it is located a few metres back from the sweeping white beach of Robberg beach. It offers a private space to relax in a secluded private garden, with a bougainvillea-shaded terrace, an outside barbecue area and a sparkling pool. There’s a choice of three garden rooms and two spacious cottage suites, each with a sleeper coach for two small children.

View Suite
The Robberg Beach Lodge has two View Suites in Beachy Head Villa. These rooms have wonderful views and spacious floor plans, with french doors opening onto a private balcony. The rooms have a bath with separate shower, twin basins, heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities (new Nespresso machines), as well as heating-cooling aircon and 40' flat-screen TVs.
View Room
The View Rooms at The Robberg overlook Plettenberg Bay's blue-flag swimming beach. The first-floor room and has a large bay window with mesmerizing sea views. The second-floor room has french doors opening onto a private balcony with great sea views. All rooms have a bath with separate shower, heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities, as well as heating-cooling aircon and flat-screen TV. Our View Rooms are not suitable for children sharing: please book a Luxury Suite or View Suite if you are travelling with children and wish to share with them. All children are welcome at The Robberg Beach Lodge in our child-friendly Suites.
Luxury Suite
Our Luxury Suites all have private balconies overlooking gardens and extremely spacious bathrooms & floorplans. These suites are all child friendly, each with a queen-size sofa bed that can comfortably accommodate 2 children up to age 11 sharing with adults. All suites have bathrooms with separate showers, heated towel rails and double basins, heating/cooling air-conditioning, flat-screen TV with selected cable channels, and minibar and tea/coffee making facilities. If you are travelling with children, please let us know how old your children are so that we can arrange for the best accommodation arrangements for them.
Luxury Room
All rooms have lovely garden views and spacious floorplans. Please see our website for specific details of each room. All Double/Twin rooms have separate bath and shower, with the exception of Cordovan Villa Room 4 which has a double-volume shower. All rooms offer heated towel rails, minibar and tea/coffee making facilities, as well as heating-cooling aircon and flat-screen TV. A mixture of cable internet and wifi is available in these rooms. All rooms have kingsize beds convertible to twins. Double/Twin Luxury Rooms are not suitable for children sharing: please book a Suite if you are travelling with children and wish to share with them: all our Suites are child-friendly.
Cottage Suite
Our two Cottage Suites are located on the first floor of the Cottage Pie building, set back from the main beach road in a quiet crescent. Both suites have very spacious floor plans and bathrooms with bath and separate shower. The Cottage Suites have cottage-style decor and wooden beamed ceilings, but offer the same modern conveniences as the other rooms: heating/cooling aircon, flat-screen TV & DSTV satellite channels, tea/coffee making facilities and minibar. This room is child-friendly.
Cottage Standard Room
The Cottage Standard Rooms are located in the peaceful Cottage Pie Villa, in a quiet crescent set back from the main beach road. The Standard Rooms offer a relaxed beach cottage-style decor and look onto garden courtyards or onto the private pool area at Cottage Pie. Standard Rooms offer shower bathrooms, with the exception of Standard Room 1 which also has a bath. Please see our website for specific features of each room. All Standard Rooms offer tea/coffee making facilities, minibar, heating/cooling aircon and flat-screen TV with a selection of DSTV channels. Wi-fi is available in these rooms. A lounge and kitchen facilities are also available for guests' use at Cottage Pie.
Cottage Pie Villa
A beautiful and welcoming cottage that is nestled beside The Robberg Beach Lodge, Cottage Pie Villa is just a stones throw away from world renowned Robberg 5 Beach. Cottage Pie Villa offers beautiful rooms with sand and sea coloured decor and washed-wood floors that are filled with the gentle sounds of the ocean. 6 Garden Rooms (Cottage Standard Rooms) and 2 Cottage Suites as well as a Self Catering Family Unit make up the property.
