St Francis Bay is perhaps the Eastern Cape's 'best kept secret'. First sighted in 1575 by Portuguese sailors who named it after their patron saint, St Francis Bay is only one hour's drive from Port Elizabeth. This tranquil village is known for its meandering waterways, picturesque thatched houses, abundant birdlife and miles of golden beaches. It is the perfect place to stop en route between the Garden Route and the Eastern Cape game reserves with its pleasant year-round temperatures and the longest sunshine hours on the South African coast.
Sandals Guest House is a unique tree and palm-fringed thatched Beach House. It is decorated in a tropical flavour and lies only 50 meters from the main beach of St Francis Bay. The lodge offers relaxed beach luxury with wooden deck flooring and pool bar holiday setting as well as ten large en suite bedrooms. All are individually decorated in African or Caribbean décor with sliding doors opening onto either a private balcony or the sub-tropical garden. All rooms have satellite television, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer, fan, wifi, safe and separate beach towels.
