The Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve is teeming with birds and wildlife, including rare, endangered species such as roan, sable and Lichtenstein hartebeest, as well as black rhino. It also offers over 100 ancient rock art sites dating back more than 2000 years as well as the majestic baobab trees –known as ‘upside-down’ trees.
As well as morning and evening game drives, enjoy visiting some of the rock art sites with a knowledgeable guide or enjoying a bush walk. Game fishing throughout the year for tiger fish, bass or catfish is also on offer as is tracking black rhino.
Community tours provide guests at Singita with the opportunity to gain insight into community life and the local Shangaan culture. You will be able to witness firsthand the positive impact of the thriving development programmes in place and meet the fascinating people who live in these communities. Community visits are at an additional cost.
Note on getting there:
Though in Southern Zimbabwe, Singita Pamushana is not easily accessible from the rest of Zimbabwe except by way of a relatively lengthy road transfer from Bulawayo. The way you access Singita Pamushana is via direct charter flights from Johannesburg. So it is actually more easily combined with South Africa than with Zimbabwe, perhaps combining a stay at Pamushana with some of its South African sister lodges in the Kruger area?
