Overview
Sosian is an elegant yet informal lodge offering a friendly home-away-from-home atmosphere in a beautifully restored African ranch house in the Sosian Conservancy in the heart of Laikipia, which 20 years ago was almost exclusively a cattle and sheep producing area.
The conservancy has exceptional scope for viewing wildlife in its natural habitat, being a haven for over 70 species of mammals, 30 species of reptiles and over 350 species of birds. Rare species in the area include the endemic Jackson’s hartebeest, Grevy’s zebra and reticulated giraffe.
The original ranch house is the centrepiece of Sosian, made up of a large sitting room, dining room, bar and billiards room, with an expansive wrap around veranda, offering undisturbed views of the bush beyond. The peaceful private cottages are spaced across the lodge gardens; the authenticity, warm welcome, and a range of uplifting activities make a stay at Sosian Lodge second to none.
When not out in the bush, walking or game driving, make the most of the beautiful and refreshing swimming pool. The solar heated pool is the perfect tonic for a hot, lazy afternoon. The large shaded pool house with an open bar offers hours of relaxation.
There is a huge array of experiences on offer at Sosian. Whether you safari by vehicle, on horseback or on foot, you are sure to take home some extraordinary memories. Galloping with giraffe, walking with elephants, tracking lions, or just sitting still and taking it all in, no two days are the same.
