Tanamera Lodge

Tanamera Lodge, meaning 'place of the red earth' has a romantic hillside forest setting between Hazyview and Sabie in the heart of the Drakensberg escarpment and close to the Blyde River Canyon, as well as the Kruger. It offers breathtaking views of the fast- flowing Sabie River far below the lodge and the forested slopes around.

The main lodge at Tanamera has a stylish sitting area and a communal dining table, though private dining in your room or on the deck is also an option. The deck has a large rimflow swimming pool with the best views of the valley below.

Accommodation at Tanamera Lodge

Five spacious and luxurious thatched chalets all enjoy the river and forest views and are well-appointed with fireplace, an unusual 'waterfall' shower, large oval stone bath, private deck with your own private plunge pool overlooking the stunning views. There's also a five bedroomed self-catering lodge which can be taken as a unit with its own fireplace, living area, kitchen and outdoor deck and private pool. This is perfect for groups of friends or a family party.

Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the forest surroundings or for the energetic, there are forest and birding walks on offer. Tanamera Lodge is well positioned for touring the panorama route along the Blyde River Canyon and the Sabie waterfalls. Fly-fishing and a safari in the Kruger are also possibilities (Phabeni Gate is 30 minutes drive away).
