Overview
Thamo Telele is a private game reserve located close to the iconic safari town of Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta. The lodge is situated on the banks of the Thamalakane River, with an abundance of wildlife including giraffe, zebra, springbok, ostrich, eland, gemsbok and kudu as well as a variety of bird life. Indulge in comfort and relaxation in one of Thamo Telele's well-appointed private tented chalets or romantic thatched honeymoon suites. World-class cuisine served by candlelight on the lodge’s expansive teak deck is the perfect way to conclude a day’s safari.
A highlight of staying at Thamo Telele is their Giraffe Experience. Take an afternoon drive (or walk) to the local waterhole, perch yourself peacefully under the trees with a sundowner and some snacks and wait for the unique ungulates to come and say hello. Whilst the giraffe are feeding, a whole host of other plains game and birdlife will join in on the action too. You’ll learn all about giraffe conservation throughout Africa and the education programmes at Thamo Telele, as well as how to identify each giraffe by their unique patterning. Each giraffe has a Setswana name, and if in doubt there is an identification book for referencing.
Marked walking trails invite guests to create their own adventure, allowing a safe and intimate interaction with the wildlife. For the more adventurous, set off on a horseback safari, scenic flight over the delta, or mokoro canoe trip down the river. Finish off the day with a warm drink around the communal fire as personal safari hosts and Thamo Telele managers share life stories from over 80 years of combined safari experience.

Luxury Guest Tent
Thamo Telele's luxury guest tent suites are on raised wooden platforms with hardwood floors and en-suite bathrooms, all with outdoor showers. The stylish canvas tents all have twin beds, which can be converted into doubles, and air conditioning above the bed. The colours are light and bright with a canopy of trees for privacy, you’ll feel at one with nature, enjoying the total freedom and relaxation.
Honeymoon Chalets
The honeymoon chalets are private and romantic, with superior king size canopy beds covered in soft white linen, wrapped in flowing netting and topped with plump fluffy pillows. The air-conditioned chalets are stylishly furnished with pops of bright colour. Each en-suite comes with a large bath, his and hers basins and panoramic views of the forest beyond.
