Wildwaters Lodge

Wildwaters Lodge is nestled in a luxuriant rainforest on it’s own private island, mid-stream in the mighty Nile about 26km from 'the source' and both the lodge and the surrounding environment is breathtakingly beautiful.
The expansive, canvas walled, traditionally thatched rooms each boast private decks with elegant free-standing baths and wash basins carved from the local pink granite. Softly lit with hand-made furniture, you can relax in comfort on this island paradise listening to the thunder of the Nile rapids, and the calls of the many species of bird who call the island home.
The lodge is currently undergoing refurbishment with new internal walkways and the pool deck now open. A big design change to the front of the rooms will bring uninterrupted views of the River Nile. The deck areas outside all the rooms are being replaced with composite decking which is made up of recycled wood fibre and plastic, leaving zero impact on the environment as well as new sliding doors on the tent fronts.
Enjoy guided walks, swimming and fishing or just chilling out in a spot where you get the charge of energy from being near surging frothy water - but without the immersion. The wildwaters reserve protects several of the tropical rainforested islands mid-stream in the Nile, providing sanctuary to endemic birds, schools of fish and unique flora and fauna. If (or when) you tire of peace and seclusion, you are only 30 minutes from the fun and excitement of present-day Jinja, adventure sports capital of East Africa, where you can enjoy bunjee-jumping, rafting, body surfing, surfing, canoeing and more.
