Port Elizabeth is the gateway to the Eastern Cape. It's commonly known as PE, but renamed as Gqeberha - sorry that name is not so easy to pronounce. It offer sandy beaches, cultural tours of the city & two top-flight links golf courses at Humewood and St Francis.
The attractive coastal resort towns of St Francis Bay and Jeffreys Bay are both are only 45-60 minutes west of Port Elizabeth, on the way to the Garden Route. These make a great place to break the journey.
The village is of picturesque white-washed thatched cottages right on the beach. There's a network of canals throughout the little town. Here you may enjoy swimming, surfing, beach walks and perhaps a round of golf at the top-ranked St Francis Links course.
Nearby Jeffrey’s Bay is famous for its majestic waves. Many surfers regard them as some of the finest in the world.
Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha) has a range of pleasant boutique hotels for an overnight stay. If you have time, we recommend a boat cruise for whales and dolphins sightings in season. Or perhaps enjoy a round of golf at Humewood Links course?
