Why not enjoy some hot air ballooning over the Magaliesberg hills at sunrise? You glide above the Magaliesberg hills as dawn breaks, for approximately one hour before landing and enjoying a champagne brunch.

The silence of the flight is punctuated only by the occasional blast of the powerful burners & the faint call of a bird or animal far beneath. The sensation is indescribable.

This region boasts some of the best ballooning weather in the world. Glide gently above the tree tops of the beautiful Magalies River Valley. Drift majestically high above the Magaliesberg range in the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage site.

After you land, you are collected by the support vehicle and brought to their clubhouse to enjoy a champagne breakfast.

Practicalities – given the very early start, we recommend staying at a country lodge in the Magaliesberg area the night before so that you can stay in bed as long as possible. There’s plenty to see and do in the Magaliesberg area so it’s worth a two night stay at least.

You can also enjoy hot air ballooning in the Pilanesberg Game Reserve (as well as at Entabeni Safari Conservancy in the Waterberg). However, the price is considerably more once you move further away from their base in the Magaliesberg area. The hot air balloon ride is a 5 star experience nonetheless.
