Microlight Flights over Victoria Falls (Zambian side)
Microlight flights are a more adventurous way to see the Victoria Falls. They offer a unique, uninhabited and literally breath-taking view of the Falls. And of the spectacular gorge that the Zambezi River has carved into the surrounding landscape over thousands of years.
One person and an experienced pilot take a 12-15-minute microlight flight over the Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River.
As with the helicopter excursions, there’s a longer 25-30 minute option as well. This takes you over the Zambezi river, circling over the Victoria Falls and its islands. Then you fly upstream along the Zambezi River to Kalai Island, flying low over the Mosi-oa-Tunya Park for unique game viewing. But it is literally double the price for double the time.
Daily flying times are from 7am to 10am, and 3pm to 6pm. But this varies slightly by season. The minimum age is 8. However, if a younger child is tall and can fit properly into a harness then they are permitted to fly. (But all children are charged at full price!)
Note – personal cameras are not permitted on microlight flights due to safety reasons.
Logistics – the Microlight flight takes off from Zambia, but you can get a transfer over from the Zimbabwe side. However, it is more expensive. The price below is for a 15 minute flight from the Zambian side.
