Skeleton Coast Safaris – Mobile or Base?
Skeleton Coast & Kaokoland
Skeleton Coast Safaris
Skeleton Coast Safaris is a personal experience with not more than 8 people. You will spend each night at a different camp to explore diverse areas. Their guides are some of the best in Namibia. The camping is fairly basic with dome tents and simple ablution facilities but this is a once-in-a lifetime experience.
The Skeleton Coast is a very fragile environment and is only really accessible by safari plane. Two fly-in safaris are on offer.
Alternatively, you can fly into the remote Hoanib Skeleton Coast Camp. It is used as a base for full day excursions. An advantage of this option is that you can combine it easily with Swakopmund or Ongava. Or even Serra Cafema in the north.
If you stay for three nights – which we always recommend – you fly to the skeleton coast to visit the remote research station.
Both are excellent ‘bucket-list’ type of experiences with a price tag to match!
