Overview
Our Botswana Water & Widlife safari combines three prime wildlife areas β the Okavango Delta (usually in two different parts of the Delta so you enjoy both land and water based activities) and the Chobe National Park.
You can choose to fly into Maun and end in Chobe (Kasane Airport) or vice versa. You fly into Maun and connect by charter flight to the glorious Okavango Delta. Here you stay at 2 different camps so that you experience different aspects of the Delta and enjoy a range of game activities including 4×4 game drives, boating, bush walks and mokoro trips – flood water levels permitting of course!
Botswana Water & Wildlife at a Glance
- 3 nights Machaba Camp. Khwai Private Reserve, Fully Inclusive
- 2 nights Monachira Camp, Okavango Delta, Fully inclusive
- 2 nights Ngoma Safari Camp, Chobe River, Fully Inclusive
Afterwards we recommend combining it with Victoria Falls. Or perhaps enjoy a complete contrast with a few days in Cape Town and the Winelands?
Tailor-make this tour
We can offer a similar safari itinerary across seven nights using different safari lodges to tailor the safari to your budget.
For example, we can use the following camps which have a long stay offer to bring down the price, if you need to. This also allows you flexibility to choose to include Savute instead of Chobe. Or to add on Leroo La Tau on the Boteti River, if you prefer. Contact us for a tailor-made quote.
- 3 nights Camp Moremi, Moremi Game Reserve, Fully Inclusive
- 2 nights Camp Okavango, Okavango Delta, Fully inclusive
- 2 nights Savuti Safari Lodge, Savuti Marsh in Southern Chobe (or Chobe Game Lodge), Fully Inclusive

On arrival in Maun, you are met and transferred by light charter flight to the Khwai area. Arrive at Machaba Camp for your 2-night stay.
The Moremi Wildlife Reserve forms the eastern boundary of the Okavango Delta. This region is known for its predators, both of the mammal and feathered variety. Being a National Park, night drives and game walks are not permitted in the Moremi but the quality of the game-viewing on your game drives more than makes up for this.
Today you are transferred by light aircraft to an Okavango water or seasonal water camp for 2 nights. The Okavango Delta is Africaβs largest and most beautiful oasis β an isolated, lush green paradise with some of the richest wildlife in the world. It is a maze of waterways, lagoons, vast grassy plains and palm-fringed and wooded islands and is home to a wide array of animals and birds. At Kiri Camp, game viewing is predominantly by motorboat, as well as game walks with an experienced and armed guide on the deltaβs islands. The evocative mokoro trips are in shallower waters, water levels permitting.

You can also stay at Gomoti Plains camp as well
Upgrade to Kiri Camp for a small supplement.
This morning, after a final game activity in the Okavango Delta, you are transferred by light charter flight to Kasane Airport where you are met and transferred to Ngoma Safari Lodge. Activities in the Chobe river area include game drives in open 4Γ4 vehicles in the Chobe National Park as well as romantic boat cruises down the river which doubles as another form of game-viewing.
Click here for more information on Chobe National Park.
Game-viewing in the Chobe National Park remains good throughout the year but of course peaks in Β the dry season when huge herds of up to 500 or more elephants congregate to drink from the Chobe river. Lion are common in the Chobe National Park, and almost expected, with buffalo, cheetah and an amazing variety of antelope often sighted. Typically you enjoy an open landrover game drive in the early morning returning to the lodge for a late brunch. The afternoon game activity is often a boat cruise on the Chobe river, when you can spot the animals coming to the river to quench their thirst as the sun sets.
After a final early morning safari activity followed by brunch, you return to Kasane Airport. From here, you can fly back to Maun or Johannesburg or continue to Victoria Falls.
