Chundukwa River Lodge – Kate’s review

This is a good distance from town – approx 30-40 mins to the Victoria Falls
It is owner-run by Gail and Doug – very warm people
All the chalets have river frontage and pleasantly furnished. Some of them can be opened up fully at the front, but also closed up at night.
This was my favourite of the more modestly priced river lodges. The rooms are quirky and stylish but the main areas and pool are fairly small

Nice Touch – they give you your own driver to take you to the Falls and whatever else you want to do eg go to markets, bead workshop, Livingstone island etc etc

They also have horses on site, so can do horse-riding (at extra cost)
Also do horse-riding (three or four day nights) in the interior staying at bush camps. However you need to be an experienced rider for this.
