Dawson’s Country Lodge review by Peter Bates

Dawsons’s County Lodge is a hidden gem with a very peaceful setting. Sitting on the porch with a pot of tea and some superb home made biscuits is highly recommended after a long day on the road. We were extremely well looked after and thought the food was great. Highly recommended.

Plus points:

  • Great, remote location
  • Colonial feel
  • Excellent hospitality and food. Some of the best home-made biscuits I have ever had
  • Tend to get a lot of custom from people driving down from Johannesburg for a break
  • Lovely place to kick back and relax
  • The bush drive is just that, a pleasant tour around and the chance to see antelope and the like, but definitely not a “regular” game drive.
