Leopard Mountain Lodge is a Zululand safari lodge with friendly staff, good game and excellent value for money. Leopard Mountain is one of 2-3 ‘commercial’ lodges in Zululand Rhino Reserve, a big 5 reserve of 23,000ha, north of Hluhhluwe.
The suites were all very smart, with open plan bathrooms (which can be screened off for greater privacy) and private plunge pools, though the main lodge was more homespun and traditional in decor.
We were rather spoilt in having Ivor, the Head Ranger, as our guide. Once at the lodge, we recommend asking to go on a walking safari (extra cost) if at all possible.
You won’t find this sort of value anywhere near the Kruger, so its a great option if you are keen on having two diversa safari experiences without having to sell granny’s jewellery in order to do it!
