Lion Sands River Lodge is a really good family-friendly lodge (kids of 10 and over) with a great setting by the Sabie River. The traversing area seems to deliver really excellent game sightings, with leopard a regular highlight. The accommodation is nice and crisp, and includes some family units; the kitchen turns out excellent food with admirable efficiency; and the two swimming pools allow plenty of people to kick back in comfort.
- The More (owners of Lion Sands) family are very keen on conservation – off-roading is only done for a known sighting (verified on foot by tracker most often) of key animals such as leopard & lion
- Rooms seem excellent after the revamp, although they are quite close together
- Food was excellent, and the service ultra efficient
